In 2015, football stars, Mesut Ozil and Ivan Rakitic revealed a black-out prototype boot on Instagram as they started testing the boots in training. Now, the boot that dominated headlines is ready to dominate pitches and boss everyone. Or is it?

Before you read on, watch this sick chewing gum skill from Mesut Ozil. And what an aim too! Dayum!

Had we tried kicking the chewing gum, it'll probably end up on the ground and us getting fined for littering. *sigh*

The ACE 16+ PURECONTROL, the world’s first high performance laceless football boot, will be worn on pitch by the likes of Mesut Ozil and Ivan Rakitic from January 23rd, with more of adidas’ ACE players stepping into the boots from January 30th.

Mesut Ozil will also be one of the first to wear the ACE 16+ Purecontrol, and said of the boots: “My whole career I have tried to minimise the impact of laces on my strike and ball control. I revealed to adidas in 2014 that in the changing room I knot the laces over and over again and then tuck in the ends, that way they do not interfere with my touch. When they came to me last year with the laceless boots, it was like they have created my dream product. I cannot wait to wear them on the pitch.”

Retailing at SG$459, the ACE 16+ PURECONTROL is available at Weston Corporation stores – Peninsula Shopping Centre, Jurong East Mall (JEM), Queensway Shopping Centre), and Goal@313. It might be a little pricey for the student football players and for some other groups of people.

Honestly, we have not tried on the boots YET but if we ever get our feet in them, perhaps we'll even try (for shits and giggles) this chewing gum trick LIVE on SingaSports LIVE stream TV. Just don't bao-toh us ah.
